HRH Nikki Awesome’s inimitable sound and style have drawn intrigue from international artists (New Order, Bloc Party, The Killers, The Deftones, Naughty By Nature, Billy Talent, Angie Bowie, Die Mannequin) and comes to London, UK after parting ways with Warner Music Canada.
DOLLS was born in mid-2009 as a byproduct of some solo material that was more offensive, darker, vaguely minimalistic but still poppy. Drawing influence from YAZ, HUMAN LEAGUE, Trent Reznor, TALK TALK, Gary Numan, Prince, TV ON THE RADIO, THE POSTAL SERVICE, APHEX TWIN, SQUAREPUSHER, Kate Bush and KRAFTWERK, DOLLS juxtaposes pop vocals and harmonies with a dark and brooding lyricism offset by themes of violence and glamour.
Imagine Nine Inch Nails banged Madonna, spat out some broken glass and recorded it to an 80′s synth.
